Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026
Conversation Café Morocco (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through conversationcafemorocco.com and our related services — café classes, live online lessons, the self-study homework app, email and WhatsApp communication — how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Conversation Café Morocco is an English speaking course for working professionals in Mohammedia, Morocco, run by Abu. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.
- Email: hello@conversationcafemorocco.com
- WhatsApp: +44 7472 460407
- Location: Mohammedia, Morocco (café sessions) and online.
2. Information we collect
a) Information you give us directly
- Name, phone number (including country code) and, where provided, email address, when you book a free trial or enrol.
- Answers from the booking quiz: self-reported English level, your goal for learning, your availability, and your budget range. We use the budget answer only to tell you immediately whether the course is a fit — it is not shared with anyone.
- Whether you ticked the optional consent box allowing us to show your first name and city in the “recent signups” notice on our website. This is optional and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Messages you send us through WhatsApp, email, the contact form, or the AI assistant on the website.
- Payment details when you enrol in the paid course. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store full card numbers.
b) Information collected through the homework and self-study app
- Your account (email address and login credentials, managed by our authentication provider — we never see your password).
- Lesson progress, quiz scores, streaks and completion history.
- Audio recordings you submit for speaking practice, plus the text transcript generated from them, used to produce AI fluency and pronunciation feedback.
- Words and phrases you save to your personal word bank, and written answers you type into exercises.
c) Information collected automatically
- Pages visited, referring website, approximate location derived from your IP address (country/city level), device and browser type, and how long you stay.
- Session replay: with your consent we record a reconstruction of your visit (clicks, scrolling, navigation) so we can see where the site is confusing. All text you type into forms is masked and never captured, and pages such as the admin, student and login areas are excluded entirely.
- Cookies and similar storage (see Section 7).
d) Advertising measurement
If you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram advert, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to measure which adverts lead to trial bookings. This may include a hashed (irreversible) version of your phone number or email so Meta can match the conversion to your ad click. You can refuse this by declining cookies, and you can control ad personalisation in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
e) Testimonials
If you agree to provide a video or written testimonial, we collect and publish your name, country and the content of your testimonial with your explicit consent. Founding-cohort students receive a discounted place in exchange for a testimonial and end-of-course feedback; you may still decline publication of any specific material.
3. How we use your information, and our legal grounds
| What we do | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Book and manage your free trial, send confirmations and reminders | So you get the right seat, on the right day, and know when to arrive | Performance of a contract / steps taken at your request |
| Call or message you before the trial to check your English level | To place you in a group that matches your level | Performance of a contract |
| Deliver café sessions, online masterclasses and homework content | To provide the service you signed up for | Performance of a contract |
| Generate AI feedback on your speaking and writing | To give you personalised coaching between lessons | Performance of a contract |
| Take payment and keep accounting records | To be paid, and to meet tax obligations | Contract / legal obligation |
| Send occasional emails or WhatsApp messages about the course | To keep you informed and offer future cohorts | Consent, or legitimate interest for existing students |
| Website analytics, session replay and advert measurement | To improve the site and spend our advertising budget sensibly | Consent (cookie banner) |
| Publish testimonials and recent-signup notices | Social proof for new learners | Explicit consent |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to make any decision with a legal or similarly significant effect about you without human involvement.
4. Audio recordings, transcripts and AI feedback
When you use the speaking practice features, your recording is sent to a third-party AI service to be transcribed and scored for fluency and pronunciation. The same applies to text you submit for written feedback, and to conversations with the website assistant. These providers process the content only to return a result to us; we have asked for it not to be used to train their models. Recordings and transcripts are used solely to support your learning and are never published or shared without your separate, explicit consent. You can ask us to delete your recordings at any time.
5. Who we share information with
We share data only with the service providers that make the course work, and only for the purposes listed:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Hosting and database provider | Website hosting, your account, bookings, progress data |
| AI providers | Transcription, speaking/writing feedback, assistant replies |
| WhatsApp Business (Meta) | Booking confirmations, reminders and replies |
| Email delivery provider | Course and booking emails, and replies you send back |
| Product analytics provider | Website usage and consented session replay |
| Meta (Pixel / Conversions API) | Advert measurement, where you consented |
| Payment provider | Card payment for paid enrolments |
We may also disclose information to legal or regulatory authorities where the law requires it, or to protect our rights. If the business is ever transferred, your data may transfer with it under the same commitments.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside Morocco, including in the European Union and the United States. Where that happens we rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards to keep your data protected to the same standard described in this policy.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential — keep you logged in, remember your language, and secure forms. These are always on.
- Analytics and session replay — only set after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner.
- Advertising — Meta Pixel, only after consent.
You can change your mind at any time using the button below, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Disabling essential cookies may break parts of the site.

Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:

- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, including your recordings and account.
- Export your data in a portable format.

If you are in Morocco you may also complain to the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel); if you are in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
10. Children’s privacy
Our services are designed for working professionals and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our database, and restrict admin access to Abu alone. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but if a breach ever affected your data we would notify you and the relevant authority without undue delay.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version, and we will tell you about significant changes by email or WhatsApp. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
